 Explanation of Terms & SUSE Features: KDE

K Desktop EnvironmentKDE stands for "K Desktop Environment" and is one of the two most common desktop environments for Linux, the other being GNOME. KDE is the default desktop environment for SUSE.

KDE is what controls the taskbar, most icons, and a most of the graphical interface of a Linux machine using KDE. A good article introducing new KDE users to their new desktop can be found here.
